Paul & Terry's Place is a local cheers style bar and was established on March 1, 1989. Co-owners are Paul Matsumoto and Terry Kakazu. They were the first ones to bring karaoke singing in a bar as we know it today. Back in the early 80s, Paul & Terry met after golfing with the gang and went to watch Paul entertain at a club called Sandy's Lounge. Terry asked Paul if she could join him and play her drums. Paul was an entertainer who worked in various local clubs and also sang in the Thunderbird Showroom in Las Vegas.

Paul and Terry played in various clubs like Sparky's lounge, The Aloha Lounge and was hired for many private functions. Then a friend hired the duo to play music and manage his new bar called New Arirang. There Paul and Terry started Karaoke Contests and was the first to bring in Live Satellite football on Monday Nights. The bar turned over several owners and Paul and Terry's Karaoke and Local crowd was sold as part of the deal. Paul and Terry got tired of all the turnovers and changes and decided to open up their own bar when a friend mentioned that a small bar in the Chinese Cultural Plaza was for sale. That was the beginning of a new era.

Paul and Terry's has been featured on Tiny T.V. and has had numerous media exposure and write ups as the Place to be.They were known for their largest karaoke selections, great sound system and darts. Yes, Paul & Terry's Place has sponsored the states first “Dream Team in Hawaii and sponsored them in National Tournaments in Las Vegas. They have a really great pupu menu and is well known for their Fine Wine List. Their wine list tops many of the Fine Restaurants in the islands. They host some really great Wine Tastings and this is where it all started for Terry and her Wine Business. Open 3pm to 2am Mondays to Fridays and 5pm to 2am on Saturdays and Sundays.
