Please join us as we will be pouring a fantastic selection of current and new releases from one of Oregon's most critically acclaimed wineries and one of California's true winemaking icons.

Bergstrom Winery:

The Bergström Winery is owned by John and Karen Bergström, Josh and Caroline Bergström, Kendall and Paul de Lancellotti, Kim and Alan Brune, Eric Bergström and Anders and Liz Bergström. The winery has three estate vineyards covering 40 acres and two appellations in Oregon’s Northern Willamette Valley all of which are Demeter certified Biodynamically farmed. Their wines have become some of the most critically acclaimed and sought after wines produced in Oregon.

Shafer Vineyards:

Shafer Vineyards traces its beginnings to 1972 when John Shafer left a 23-year career in the publishing industry and, with his family, moved to the Napa Valley to pursue a second career in wine. The first Shafer Cabernet became a benchmark, winning the acclaimed San Francisco Vintners Club taste-off upon release and, over a decade later taking first place in an international blind tasting held in Germany, where it outranked such wines as Chateau Margaux, Chateau Latour and Chateau Palmer. Doug Shafer became winemaker in 1983 after graduating from the University of California at Davis with a degree in enology and viticulture. A year later Elias Fernandez joined the winery as assistant winemaker. Together Doug and Elias have worked closely to forge the Shafer style of quality, consistency and elegance.

Ke Kani O Ke Kai Summer Concert Series at the Aquarium

As the sun sets on Waikiki, the Aquarium lawn will light up with five unforgettable performances, as the Waikiki Aquarium presents its 13th annual, summer concert series, Ke Kani O Ke Kai.

Each concert will feature some of the islands’ top performers in a setting like no-other – oceanside with a beautiful sunset and under the stars. The live entertainment will be accompanied by food from various restaurant partners and fun for the entire family. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and performances will commence at 7 p.m. The exciting line-up of entertainers are:

Thursday, August 12 | Ho‘okena (Restaurant partner: Hula Grill Waikiki)

Advance ticket purchase is required (due to space limitations) - only 600 tickets are available per concert. Low sand chairs and beach mats only, please. Signature menu items provided by a leading Honolulu restaurant will be available for purchase at each performance. The WaikÄ«kÄ« Aquarium is a smoke-free facility. No outside food, beverages or coolers allowed. There will be no refunds; performances will be held rain or shine. Net proceeds from the 2010 Ke Kani O Ke Kai series will fund the first phase of a photovoltaic system at the Waikiki Aquarium.
