There will also be Lion Dancing in the courtyard to kick off the Chinese New Year Celebration in Chinatown.

Shawn Lutwak, National Sales & Marketing Director of Palmaz Vineyards will be here to talk about the wines from this world class winery. 

The Palmazes bought a forgotten stone winery, a fine old house badly in need of renovation, and acres of land that had once produced fine Napa wines. The little valley had been the site of Cedar Knoll Vineyard and Winery, founded in 1881 by Henry Hagen, one of Napa Valley's pioneer winemakers.

Henry Hagen produced wines that garnered many awards, including a silver medal at the Paris Exposition of 1889. During that era, Cedar Knoll was one of Napa's premier wineries. The vineyards survived the Wine Country’s phylloxera infestation in the 1890s, but Prohibition was fatal. The winery fell into disrepair and the vineyards lay fallow for nearly eighty years.

Today, the vineyards are burgeoning, the restored Hagen house is a family home again, and the winery has been reinvented.

Baked Mahi-mahi stuffed with Hamakua mushrooms on okinawan mashed potato with oyster beurre blanc and basil oil drizzle

Asian style braised boneless short ribs served with green tea mashed potato and fresh island vegetable

Pear Champagne sorbet – light, crisp & refreshing served in chilled martini glass with mint sprig.

Robert Chadderdon was raised in Connecticut and is a graduate of Boston University. In
the early 1970s, he worked for Frank Schoonmaker Selections, the forerunner of
Seagram's (and now Diageo's) Chateau & Estates fine wine division. A fluent French
speaker, Chadderdon was Schoonmaker's man on the ground in France, living in
Bordeaux and forging wine relationships that endure to this day. He attended the
University of Bordeaux obtaining a degree in Oenology which allows him to assist his clients in making the best wines possible. In 1976, he started his own company, Robert Chadderdon Selections, with offices at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. In the late 1980's he opened Robert Chadderdon Selections West in Oakland, CA, naming Alan Sobczak as President.

KUNG HEE FAT CHOY!   It's a double whammy with the Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year...so let's bring in the Year of the Tiger with bang "HASR Style" and enjoy a fine dining dinner in a bento box without the suits and linens. 

Forget the hassle of fine dining and crowds by joining us at HASR for a great dinner menu put out by Chef Tony Vierra from the Grand Cafe and enjoy dining in our courtyard with great music by Kawika Ortiz.
